Higley Unified School District is proud to offer quality early learning programs in our state-of-the-art Early Childhood Development Centers on the campuses of Cooley and Sossaman Middle Schools, which opened in 2013.
Both Centers offer three Early Childhood programs to fit the interests and schedules of all families. Brilliant Beginnings is available for children ages 3-4. We will also offer a Kindergarten Prep program for children ages 4-5 and our Special Education Preschool program.
Classes are taught by certified early childhood educators.

We are thrilled to announce that enrollment, and open enrollment, for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year is now open!
All of our schools are proudly "A" Rated, and we look forward to welcoming new families.

We are excited to announce that every in-person school in the Higley Unified School District (HUSD) has earned an “A” letter grade from the Arizona Department of Education for the 2024–25 school year. This achievement reflects the district’s commitment to academic excellence, student growth, and high-quality research-based instruction across all campuses. The Higley Unified School District Governing Board meeting schedule can be found on the district website at husd.org/board-meetings. The public is welcome to attend all board meetings. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the meetings. Board Business Meetings and Work Study Sessions are livestreamed on the district YouTube channel. Please note, Points of Pride, Higley Adventures, and Requests to Speak are not included during the Work Study meetings.

Higley Unified School District’s Community Education Department plays a vital and active role in serving students and families across the community. Designed to support learning beyond traditional classroom hours, Community Education offers programs that provide safe, engaging, and meaningful experiences for children of all ages.
